The Fifth Annual DSBN Short Film Competition was held at the SHAW Festival on November 22nd, 2017. Art students Brenna Pearson, Aisha Wiens, Mark Youngblut, Bruce Bryan, Caitlynn VanKralingen and Taryn Snider  represented Port High.

It was a race against time to make a thrilling film in one day!  The students worked hard from 9am until 9pm.   Judges were looking for storytellers to craft a story based on a concept given to them that morning.  Results wont be known until late November.  The students must first meet with a professional filmmaker to go over their work.

The goal of this event is to provide freedom of choice in order to allow creativity to blast through the roof! Students can use the editing software of their choice for the film competition. They can also bring their own cameras and audio equipment.   Students were not be held back.

The team worked hard.  They participated in a pre-competition workshop on Thursday November 17th and then a post workshop after the competition day.
