Zach Zavits - Grade: 11
I Am Second would like to congratulate Zach Zavitz for being such a great member of the PCHS Community. Zach is in grade 11 and is currently studying Manufacturing and Math. He would like to pursue a career as an electrician after high school. Zach loves baseball and basketball; especially the Toronto Raptors. Zach is always friendly and polite and is a great big brother. Recently, Zach has started a new job at McDonald's and is enjoying that. Parker Lampman - Grade: 9
I Am Second would like to congratulate Parker Lampman for being such a great member of the PCHS Community. Parker is in grade 9 and is currently studying Geography, Science, Culinary, and English. Parker is a hard working, positive, friendly, and out-going team player. She was on the robotics team this year and also participated in Student Voice. Parker enjoys playing hockey and travelling and has learned the game of Ultimate with Mr. Fletcher. Seth Tonelli - Grade: 10
I Am Second would like to congratulate Seth Tonelli for being such a great member of the PCHS Community. Seth is in grade 10 and is currently studying Integrated Arts, English, Science and Woodshop. Having been born on December 25th, Seth celebrates his birthday on Christmas Day. Seth enjoys going fishing as well as playing hockey and baseball. In fact, he is a member of the PCHS Hockey and Baseball teams. Seth also works at Buckners Sports. Seth is our featured Blue Bear this week and is the recipient of a $25 gift card from the cafeteria.

Celina Ruscica - Grade: 12
I Am Second would like to congratulate Celina Ruscica for being such a great member of the PCHS Community. Celina is in grade 12 and is a peer tutor with Mrs. Strickland and is taking a fitness class with Mr. Fettes. Celina enjoys ice skating in the winter. She also enjoys hairstyling and is considering that as a career choice. Celina is also involved with her church youth group in Welland. She has a sister, Carlee, and a brother, Bryce, who are also students here at Port High. Celina is our featured Blue Bear this week and is the recipient of a $25 gift card from the cafeteria. Jaden McCrary - Grade: 12
Interests/Hobbies: Jaden is in grade 11 and is studying Art, English, Math, and Com Tech where he is helping with the creation of the 2017-2018 yearbook this semester. Jaden is a very determined individual who collects vinyl records and retro video games. He frequently buys and sells items on Kijiji. He is quiet and considerate and has worked hard at developing an incredible talent for drawing; especially self-portraits. They are very good! David Sheppard - Grade: 9
Interests/Hobbies: David Sheppard to the PCHS Community. David is in grade 9 and is studying Math, Science, Art, and Geography this semester. David enjoys hanging out at the Vale Centre in his free time participating in several different activities there. David can also be seen sporting different hair styles on a regular basis as he enjoys dying his hair in a variety of colours. Hayley O'Connor - Grade: 11
Interests/Hobbies: Hayley is in grade 11 and is studying Biology, Math, Human Growth and Development, and English this semester. Hayley graduated from McKay Public School and enrolled in the French Immersion program at Centennial before enrolling this year at Port High. She has quickly settled in to the Blue Bear community and even played on the Senior Girls Volleyball Team this year. Hayley is a kind and respectful young woman who always does her best and participates regularly. She is conscientious, polite, friendly, and loves being a Blue Bear. Payton Dickie - Grade: 9
Interests/Hobbies: Payton is in grade 9 and is studying Math, Drama, English and Science. Payton is a second generation Blue Bear who is very polite, helpful, and creative. She loves to read and is a member of the White Pine Book Club. Payton is on a synchro swim team and is a member of Pulse. Payton is Mr. Fletcher's go-to person for re-filling his classroom water station. She has not shyed away from getting involved and showing her Blue Bear Spirit as a new member of our community. Brandon Dekker - Grade: 10
Interests/Hobbies: Brandon is in grade 10 and is studying English, Science, Civics and Careers and Culinary. Brandon is a loyal friend to many and loves the game of lacrosse. He is a great student who is always positive. In drama class, he is very talented at improv and developing creative scenes and characters.

Julia Johnson - Grade: 11
Interests/Hobbies: Julia is in grade 11 and is studying English, Science, Law and is a peer tutor in Mr. Mitson's Computer technology class this semester. Julia is polite, cooperative, and helpful as a student and peer tutor. Last year, Julia participated in a "playwriting for youth" program at a theatre company and also participated in High School Musical at Port High. She is creative and talented and has an interest in forensic science. Julia is hoping to become an Environmentalist or a Marine Biologist one day.

Meghan Gauthier - Grade: 12
Interests/Hobbies: Meghan is in grade 12 and is studying Fitness, Chemistry, Biology, and English this semester. Meghan is also a member of Punchline, Port High's improv team. She delivered a witty and clever performance with her team at this year's Showcase concert. Meghan enjoys skiing, long boarding, and the arts. She is a hard-working, polite, kind, and encouraging student who always gives her best in every thing she does while maintaining a friendly smile on her face.

Jacob Wakefield - Grade: 10
Interests/Hobbies: Jacob is in grade 10 and is studying Math, Drama, Civics, Careers, and History this semester. Jacob enjoys playing hockey and going to Toronto to watch the Leafs with his dad. He is a great big brother as he is often seen walking his younger brothers to and from school and taking them trick or treating.

Alyssa Brozovic - Grade : 11
Interests/Hobbies: Alyssa as an awesome member of the PCHS Community. Alyssa is in grade 11 and studies math, music, sociology, and english this semester. Although quiet, Alyssa has a great sense of humour and is a great problem solver. She is also kind and considerate and an all round great Blue Bear. Alyssa plays clarinet in the Bluetones Jazz Band and is a valued member of the PCHS Music Department.

Eric Birrell - Grade : 10
Interests/Hobbies: Eric is in grade 10 and enjoys hunting, fishing and hockey. He is a master fish cleaner and is a member of the PCHS hockey team, ball hockey team and ski club. He has already caught a deer this season and will be headed east later this month do to some more hunting. Eric is described as an enthusiastic skier, a good problem solver, and a positive person who is always eager to work. He is polite and has a great sense of humour. Eric also works at Erie Tracker.
