Thank you Thurston Machine Ltd. & Barber Hymac Inc. for the informative visits.

Port Colborne High School continued to expand its strong partnership with the local manufacturing industry today as it toured 2 large manufacturing plants.

17 students participated in today's tours.   There were many familiar faces throughout the visits for manufacturing teacher Vic Barker & myself as several PCHS grads were employed at the facilities.  Many of those individuals are former co-op students who have pursued careers in the skilled trades.

PCHS is the home to the 2014 Canadian National Welding champion.  This adds to a remarkable record of success over the years for the Blue Bear welders.  The impressive rally of titles reads as 6 Southern Ontario Championships in a row, All Ontario Champions 3 out of the last 4 years, and all Canada Champions 2 out of the last 4 years.  PCHS can truly lay claim to the #1 Welding Program in all of Canada!
