Meet our Athletes of the month for March

Apr 08, 2022
Ava de Waard & Ian Leggett

march athletes of the month
Ava de Waard is a grade 9, multi-sport, student athlete who was a key contributor for the Jr. Girls' Basketball & Volleyball teams during March.  Ava played a key role in helping the junior girls volleyball team during their successful season.  Her ability to help the team earn points with her consistent powerful serves proved that she could be counted on when they were up against any tough competitor.   Ave showed commitment and dedication to always do her best during practices and games, which proved to help her build on her, already strong, setting skills. The Steele Street grad is currently playing for the Soccer and Ultimate teams.

Grade 11 student athlete Ian Leggett also played on multiple teams for PCHS during March.  He is described as a selfless leader that is willing and capable to play any position for the Blue Bear hockey team.  His team first attitude, reliability and work ethic on the basketball court was appreciated.   The former McKay Lion is currently playing Badminton, Ultimate and Soccer for Port High.
