Last week the track team competed in the all Ontario championships which were held in Oshawa. The team brought seven competitors and all did an outstanding job representing their school. Our top performer of the weekend was Luke Clattenburg who is able to finish second in the junior boys discus. Our second medalist was Zack Piazza in the midget boys javelin throw. Zack through a 4 meter personal best at the regional meet just to qualify for OFSAA. Amazingly, Zack threw another four meter personal best at OFSAA to take the bronze medal! Emily Gamble was our only athlete that competed in two events over the weekend. Emily finished ninth in the midget girls long jump and 11th in triple jump. Our trio of senior girl Discus throwers put forth a strong effort despite very poor weather conditions in their competition. Jazmin kikkert Labeau was able to take ninth place while Ilyssa Boisvenue finished 11th and Nicole Vannatter 12th . Kreek Barick also competed in the midget boys shotput and represented his school very well. Congratulations to all competitors on a fantastic season!
