35 students from Ms. Mayne's, Ms. Converset & Mr. Stickney's classes attending
The Arts Department is traveling to New York City April 9-12, 2014. Ms. Converset, Ms. Mayne, and Mr. Stickney will be traveling with 35 students from Port High to experience the sights and sounds of North America's central hub for the performing arts. We will be touring The Lincoln Performing Arts Centre which is home to the New York Ballet Company, the Metropolitan Opera Company, the Juilliard School of Music, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and Wynton Marsalis' Jazz at Lincoln Center. We will also visit the Museum of Modern Art, Radio City Music Hall (home of the world famous Radio City Rockettes), and B.B. King's Blues Club and Grill! On Broadway, we will be attending a live performance of "Les Miserables" as well as "Once"! Finally, no trip to New York City would be complete without a tour of Central Park, Grand Central Station, the Rockefeller Center (including a visit to the Top of the Rock), Greenwich, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, and a ride on the Staten Island Ferry which passes the Statue of Liberty! All of this in four days! We can't wait!
