Playwright Allison Williams visiting from Dubai spoke to students in the senior drama class following their performance of her play “MmmBeth”. Allison was in Canada for only five days to run a buskerfest and took the time to come to Port High and see our very talented students perform her play. Following their performance, students had an opportunity to talk to Allison about the process she used to write the play, as well as what it is like to live a life in Dubai.
This year’s senior drama class delighted all of their audiences with their performance of “MmmBeth”. This one act play was developed and performed by the class as their theater production unit. This spoof of “The Scottish” play was very comical and all of the students should be very impressed with their accomplishments.
The students in the senior drama class were also visited by Lori Ravensborg, a professor of Acting for Film and Television at Niagara College. During her visit, Lori did a workshop with the students on Meisner Technique, which is a key acting technique used by the program. This fun and informative visit gave students an insight into this very unique program at Niagara College.
