The Port Colborne track team competed yesterday at the SOSSA championships held in St. Catherine's. The team had an outstanding day and was able to bring home three gold medals! Our first winners of the day to were Kreek Barrick and Emily Gamble. Kreek won the midget boys shotput while Emily Jumped a new personal best of just under five meters to win the midget girls long jump. Emily also did a great job in the triple jump by placing third in a very strong and close competition. Our third winner of the day was Ilyssa Boisvenue who won the senior girls discus throw. It was a very tight competition as Ilyssa' strongest competitors were teammates Jasmine Kikkert Labeau and Nicole Vannatter, Who finished second and fourth respectively. Other top performers of the day were Luke Clattenburg, who finished second in the junior boys discus throw and Zack Piazza who placed third in long jump and fifth in javelin. Other top performers of the day were Zach Krueger, Victoria McIntyre and Tristan Hynks. These three did an outstanding job representing their school but unfortunately were unable to qualify for next weeks OFSAA South regional meet. Great job everyone!
