The final night of the 11th Tribune Girls Basketball Tournament was a hoops homecoming for Tribune Tournament scholarships recipients Sarah Airhardt and Madison Edwards.
The two graduates of Port high school now in their first year at the University of Guelph took a bow when the four-day, 16-team tournament wrapped up Saturday night at Eastdale Secondary School.
Each of the recipients of the $500 scholarships played in at least one Tribune Tournament, including Madison Edwards who took the court for the Blue Bears in all of her four years at Port High.
Funded by proceeds from game admission and program sales and advertising, scholarships recognize deserving student athletes both financially and athletically.
Official presentation of the scholarships was among the highlights of the championship doubleheader at Eastdale.
