The Port Colborne Secondary School Visual Arts program was recently invited to display their work at the Port Colborne Library. We choose this opportunity to display several examples of our Pop Art Portraits, Alcohol Ink Abstract Art pieces, and several Mixed Media projects until the end of January. Please go check them out!
Students created Pop Art Portraits using acrylic paints on canvas board. The artists experimented with monochromatic value scales and a grid technique for creating detailed portraits.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to experiment and create Abstract Art with alcohol inks on latex paper under the tutelage of local art instructor, Amanda Braun.
Lastly, students created a universal message through their mixed media projects. The students employed layering, image transfer techniques, paint, pen and whatever materials they felt like experimenting with to create their designs.
